Wisconsin Lake & Pond Resource LLC has been receiving calls of floating fish after the ice came off. If you have some dead fish you are not alone. Pond winter care is important in preventing a few dead fish although not all. Even ponds with aeration systems are experiencing a few dead fish along the shoreline.
One of the reasons for the dead fish is directly linked to the extremely long and hard winter. Ponds and lakes have been ice covered with large amounts of snow for too long and some fisheries are showing signs of this stress. Many non-aerated ponds have encountered a complete fish kill.
